Tena, Ecuador

Tena, the capital of the Napo Province, is a city in the Amazon rainforest. Known as the “cinnamon capital” of Ecuador, Tena has emerged as a major commercial center in Ecuador. Tena lies 3.5 hours southeast of Quito, the capital city of Ecuador.

Famous for its rainforest and rivers surrounding the city, guided tours of the jungle and exotic flora and fauna contained within are available.

Tena has reached near legendary status with whitewater enthusiasts and boasts the best rafting and kayaking in Ecuador. It also features sand and pebble beaches, as well as a number of plazas and parks for recreation.
