Santa Clarita students did it again! Congratulations to Brandon Cho of Valencia High School and Julios De Jesus from Canyon High School who won 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, in the national Young Artists and Authors Showcase hosted by Sister Cities International in Washington, D.C. Brandon won 2nd place for his poetry, “The Light of Hope” and Julios won 3rd place for his original music composition, “Juven – We are One.” The 2021 Showcase encouraged youth to submit entries inspired by the theme “United in Hope” and convey their vision of citizen diplomacy and how hope can be a uniting force during this challenging time when the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are felt globally.
