The Santa Clarita City Council dedicated the Carl Boyer Room at City Hall in honor of Santa Clarita Sister Cities Founder Carl Boyer.  The room features winning artwork from Santa Clarita Sister Cities’ and Sister Cities International’s Young Artists and Authors Showcase.  Through the Santa Clarita Sister Cities Program, Carl led our community in various local and international collaborative projects with countries such as Ecuador, the Philippines, Japan, India and Nicaragua. His endeavors focused on the promotion of international goodwill and cultural understanding.  He helped to create the City Incorporation Committee, and when Santa Clarita did become a City in 1987, he was elected as one of the first City Councilmembers for the City of Santa Clarita.  He served on the City Council until 1998, during which time, he completed two terms as the Mayor of Santa Clarita, in 1991 and 1996.
