Santa Clarita Sister Cities is proud to announce that two local students won Sister Cities International’s (SCI) 2023 Young Artists and Authors Showcase, held in Washington, D.C.
Nicole Clarin of the Academy of the Canyons was selected as the international Grand Prize winner in the Essay category for her entry, “Have you Eaten,” while Grace Lee of West Ranch High School placed third in the Digital Arts category for her artwork, “Holding On.” Their work competed with entries from other Sister Cities organizations around the globe. The international winners were announced during SCI’s Youth Leadership Summit on August 10, 2023. Nicole’s and Grace’s work can be viewed at this virtual gallery, along with the winners and finalists of the Santa Clarita showcase.
